Nacogdoches Man Charged With DWI

According to authorities in Nacogdoches, Ted Wayne was driving his car and hit another car parked on the side of the road.  He then got out of his car and began to walk away.  It was later determined by police that Mr. Wayne was intoxicated.  He has been charged with a third degree felony DWI, due to the fact that this was his third DWI.  He has also been charged with failure to stop and render aid for trying to leave the scene.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.ktre.com/Global/story.asp?S=13411561

Houston Woman Charged With Hit and Run

A woman suspected of a deadly hit-and-run accident that left one man dead and his child injured was in court this morning.  Brenda Johnson has been charged with intoxication manslaughter in the death of Theodore Jones.  Authorities believe that Johnson was intoxicated on prescription drugs when she drove into a bus stop where the victim was seated.  Police say Johnson kept driving and eventually flipped her car into a ditch near T.C. Montrose Robbery Suspects in Custody

HPD says they have arrested two suspects who may be involved in over 150 burglaries in the Montrose area.  Both suspects are facing felony burglary charges.  Officers in the Central Patrol Division believe the two are responsible for morethan half of all burglaries in the Montrose area since 2009.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/7266285.html

127 Pounds of Heroin Seized in Laredo

Federal agents in Laredo seized $13 million worth of heroin at the U.S. border.  An Arlington man is currently being detained pending the outcome of an investigation.  About 100 packages of brown heroin was found in the roof of a bus trying to enter the Laredo Port of Entry.  This is reportedly the largest confiscation in Laredo port history.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/7264171.html

Armed Robber Escapes On Bike

This past Wednesday, an armed robbery took place at the IBC Bank located inside of an HEB grocery store.  Police say a man between 25 and 30 years old, ordered the bank employees to open the bank safe at gunpoint.  The suspect reportedly obtained about $30,000 in cash before fleeing the scene on a bicycle.  To read more on this story please go to abclocal.go.com

Possible Lower Legal Limit for DWI

Death Penalty Sought in Stabbing and Strangling Murders

The trial of a man accused of killing his girlfriend and her two daughters began this past Monday.  The prosecution is seeking the death penalty in the case.  Garland Harper is accused of stabbing his girlfriend and cutting her throat, before strangling her two young daughters.  After being released from prison on an aggravated robbery charge, Harper dated Triska Rose for seven months before her death.  Attorneys for Harper stated that he was a mentally ill man with a drug problem, which made him delusional.  To read more on this please go to http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/7231711.html

Capital Charges Dropped

Prosecutors were forced to drop capital murder charges this past Tuesday against two defendants.  The reason for the charges being dropped was police involved in the case did not give attorneys on either side a particular piece of evidence.  The judge in the case ruled that taped statements by the accused were inadmissable.  The judge made the ruling following a Houston Police Officer's admission that the defense attorneys in the case hadn't been told about the videotape.

$4 Million Worth of Marijuana Found in Missouri City
