Santos Constancio III was sentenced to 16 years in prison for intoxication manslaughter earlier this month.  The sentence comes after Constancio was involved in a fatal car accident that killed a UTSA student.  According to police, Constancio ran a red light and collided with the young man's car, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle.  The young man died in a hospital the very next day.  Constancio was facing up to 20 years in prison.  He will be eligible for parole after serving half his sentence.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local_news/article/Drunken-driver-gets-16-years-in-prison-1004072.php

29-year-old Cesar Carrasco-Garcia crossed the center line while traveling south on LA 47 and drifted into oncoming traffic.  He collided head on with a Lexus traveling north on LA 47.  The driver of the Lexus was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.  A blood sample was taken from Carrasco-Garcia at the scene of the accident.  Troopers on the scene believed that he was under the influence of either alcohol or drugs.  Garcia has been charged with vehicular homicide and DWI.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.neworleans.com/news/local-news/561403.html

Officers from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office arrested 35-year-old Kerry Doan this past Wednesday.  Doan has been charged with online solicitation of a minor.  A search warrant was executed at Doan's house in an attempt to find evidence of the crime.  The arrest comes after an investigation into sexually oriented communications that Doan had with an underage girl.  Doan's bond was set at $30,000.  To read more on this story please go to http://fatcatwebproductions.com/the_paper/1877-montgomery-county-man-arrested-online-solicitaion-minor

Miguel Cabrera was arrested this past Wednesday for suspicion of drunken driving in Florida.  Cabrera was first spotted by a deputy because his car had smoke coming out of it on the side of the road.  While the deputy was questioning Cabrera, he reportedly took a drink out of a bottle of scotch.  In addition to drinking in front of the officer, Cabrera smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech, and refused to cooperate with police.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.theledger.com/article/20110217/APS/1102171074

HPD has launched a six month campaign to heighten patrols and DWI enforcement on Houston roads.  The initiative is designed to reduce drunk driving accidents by heightening enforcement of drinking and driving offenses combined with public education.  HPD will also be deploying breath alcohol testing vehicles to strategic locations around the city.  To read more on this story please go to http://ourtribune.com/article.php?id=11536

A 14 year old girl reported being raped in the middle of the night by an unknown intruder.  It was later determined that the suspect was the cable guy that had installed her cable just days before.  The alleged rapist is still currently on the loose.  No DNA was recovered from the victim, due to the fact that the suspect wore a condom.  When questioned by police, the suspect denied raping the girl.  To read more on this story please go to http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=7957577

Remedios Sanchez was found not guilty of felony DWI after a trial by jury in San Angelo Texas.  When Sanchez was found by police, he was passed out in his vehicle and was wearing only his boxer shorts and socks.  When tested for alcohol, Sanchez reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of .42.  But the issue that led to his not guilty verdict, was that nobody saw him driving his vehicle.  This was a felony DWI because Sanchez had previously bee convicted of DWI twice before.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.gosanangelo.com/news/2011/feb/15/jury-is-deliberating-dwi-case/

Ivan Coleman has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of an adult.  Coleman was a security guard at the apartment complex that the woman is a resident of.  He insisted on walking the woman to her apartment after she returned home from a night of drinking.  The woman says that she passed out after Coleman walked her home, and when she woke up she was naked and Coleman was standing next to her bed, also naked.  A rape exam showed that saliva found on her matched that of Coleman.  To read more on this story please go to http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=7951231

A proposed state bill could require first time DWI offenders to have breathalyzers installed in their cars.  The new bill would also give defendants the opportunity to receive deferred adjudication for their first DWI.  The current laws on DWIs in the state of Texas prohibits first time offenders from receiving deferred adjudication.  But the proposed bill also states that if a first offender is given deferred adjudication, they would be required to have an ignition interlock device on their car.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.hilltopviewsonline.com/proposed-state-bill-focuses-on-first-time-dwi-offenders-1.1969852

Louisiana State Police have arrested 51-year-old Kevin Carmouche for online solicitation of a minor.  Carmouche contacted an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl in an online chat room.  Carmouche allegedly became sexually explicit at some point in the chat and then asked the girl if they could meet for sex.  After showing up to a meeting that carmouche had arranged, he was arrested by police.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.theadvertiser.com/article/20110208/NEWS01/102080303/1002

Former Hancock County Sheriff's deputy, Michael Robinson, has been sentenced to two weeks in jail for getting a DWI while on duty.  While Robinson was on duty, he got into a car accident around 9:30 in the morning.  When he was arrested, his blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.  Officials with the Hancock County Sheriff's Office do not believe that the former deputy had been drinking while on duty.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.fox59.com/news/crime/wxin-deputy-michael-robinson-exdeputy-sentenced-for-driving-drunk-while-on-duty-20110208,0,424669.story

Dale Chisena Sr., a former school teacher, has been arrested for allegedly flying to Kentucky to meet what he believed was a minor.  It turns out it was an undercover police officer posing as a minor on the internet.  Chisena has been charged with four counts of solicitation of a minor.  Chisena was already awaiting trial for two counts of possession of child pornography.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.kentucky.com/2011/02/07/1626334/man-pleads-not-guilty-to-child.html

A suspected drunk driver was killed in the early morning hours this past Sunday morning.  At about 3:15am the woman was driving home after a night of drinking.  While passing over some railroad tracks she lost control of her vehicle.  The car rolled over several times and the driver was ejected from her SUV.  She died at the scene of the accident as a result of her injuries.  To read more on this story please go to http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=7942086

29-year-old Zach Hernandez of Midland has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.  The charges come after a motorcycle accident in which Hernandez's passenger was killed.  22-year-old Heidi Evans of Odessa was pronounced dead soon after arriving at an area hospital.  A blood draw showed that Hernandez's blood alcohol level was more than 3 times the legal limit.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.oaoa.com/news/midland-58966-hernandez-charged.html
