Charges were filed after a 12-year-old girl was caught text messaging Guevara-Silva while she was in school. New York City police officer, Christopher Morris, has been arrested and charged with the offense of driving while intoxicated. Morris had been attending a benefit for a slain police officer before he allegedly slammed into a pole, after he had been drinking. Witnesses then heard the officer on the phone claiming he had been in a chase. Morris later refused a breath test when officers arrived on the scene to investigate. Ida Marie Fruster has been arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. Fruster was driving with two passengers when her car left the road, drove along a fence and then struck a tree. After striking the tree, the car went airborne and then landed on its wheels on the shoulder of the road. Both passengers died as a result of their injuries sustained in the crash and Fruster is being held at the Williamson County Jail. Jeremy Houston has been arrested and charged with the offense of driving while intoxicated. According to police, they saw Houston swerve across the center line multiple times before being stopped by police. When police came into contact with Houston they allegedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and when asked to exit the car, he fell flat on the ground in front of the officer. With spring break coming, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is trying to encourage party-goers to designate a P.A.S.S. (Person Appointed to Stay Sober) and and avoid a DWI by keeping drunk drivers off the roadways. Adults between 18 and 34 are more likely to be involved in a fatal Texas car crash over the weekend. Officials hope the P.A.S.S. program will help change that.

Texas Tech Student Brian Cody Hawthorne was indicted this past Tuesday on 3 counts of intoxication manslaughter. Police say Hawthorne was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and rolled his truck. The truck then hit a pedestrian, killing him, and two passengers in the truck were killed by a fire hydrant that came through the windshield. Paramedics said they smelled alcohol on Hawthorne's breath when they arrived at the scene. He then allegedly admitted to them that he had been drinking before the accident occured. Archie Wilson, a former county commissioner from Kentucky, has been charged with solicitation of prostitution and trafficking a controlled substance. The county attorney said an investigation began after a woman told police she had several sexual encounters with Wilson in exchange for money and drugs. Carlos A. Martinelly-Montano was sentenced to 20 years in prison on an intoxication manslaughter charge for causing a crash that killed a nun. Martinelly-Montano is originally from Bolivia and was here in the country illegally at the time of the crash. He had two previous convictions for DWI and he was scheduled for a deportation hearing before the crash. Martinelly-Montano said that he had devoted his life to god now and wanted to be a preacher. Before sentencing him to 20 years, the judge said that he knows Martinelly-Montano has made changes, but society has got to be protected. David Ettinger, a former teacher, has been indicted on multiple charges including possession of child pornography. Police say that multiple computers and digital media were taken from Ettinger's home during the execution of a federal search warrant. After inspecting the items seized, multiple images and movies on the devices showed Ettinger allegedly sexually assaulting an underage girl. Boyce Ara Smith has been arrested and charged with his fourth DWI, a felony. Police say that Smith had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcohol when they pulled him over. Smith was then transported to a hospital for a mandatory blood draw after refusing all tests. When officers attempted to draw his blood, Smith allegedly bit the hand of one of the officers. Smith was given a bond in the amount of $20 thousand dollars and charged with felony DWI and assault on a public servant. Angela Odom, of Austin, has been arrested and charged with the offense of driving while intoxicated. Police first came into contact with Odom when she was seen banging on an apartment gate, naked. Officers then conducted field sobriety tests on Odom and found two empty 24-ounce cans of Earthquake Lager in her car. Odom was then taken into custody and is being held on a $4,000 bond.
Frederick Gustav Mueller was charged with intoxication manslaughter after a collision that killed a volunteer firefighter. The victim was killed when he tried to pass Mueller as Mueller was making a U-turn. According to police, when they made contact with Deyoe he gave officers a false name and his license had been revoked for 37 scofflaw violations. According to a witness, Colunga allegedly ran a red light and crashed into pedestrians that were walking across the street. The investigation began when Jefford posted an ad on Craigslist requesting a woman who would be interested in a "rape fantasy sexual encounter."The posting was answered by an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old girl. Jefford and the detective then began chatting on Yahoo all the way up to the day of his arrest. Jefford was arrested when he showed up to meet the girl and was found in possession of a handgun and duct tape.
Maureen Jane Raymond was pulled over by Florida Police after she was noticed driving in an erratic manner. According to the arresting officer, she had an odor of an alcoholic beverage about her and her speech appeared to be slurred. When the officer asked her to do some roadside tests, Raymond allegedly said that her big chest would give her poor balance. When asked to walk the line, she allegedly began to dance and remove her clothing. She was then arrested for suspicion of DWI shortly after.
