Woman Arrested For Trying to Buy Her Father A Prostitute

Former Teacher Arrested Again

Harlingen Resident Charged With Intoxication Manslaughter

Aureliano Moreno has been charged with intoxication manslaughter in the death of a 57-year-old man.  Police say that Moreno hit Juan Aranjo as he was riding his bicycle down the road.  Moreno was originally charged with intoxication assault, but the charge was upgraded to manslaughter when Aranjo died.  Moreno was given a bond in the amount of $100,000.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.valleycentral.com/news/story.aspx?id=608598   

21-Year-Old Arrested For Soliciting Minor

Drunk Driver Charged In Elderly Man's Death

Teen Charged With Intoxication Assault & Manslaughter

Former Radio DJ Indicted

Florida Man Solicits Minor

A florida man has been arrested and charged with traveling to meet a minor for sex and two counts of online solicitation of a parent for sex with a child.  Sheriff's detectives in the area answered an on-line ad created by a man seeking to meet a family for fun.  The man was later discovered to be 46-year-old Jeffrey Whipple, who unknowingly chatted with the police about having sex with a woman and her daughter.  Last month police discovered a similar ad posted by Whipple and they told him that the girl would be 9 years old.  Whipple was taken into custody when he showed up at a meeting place designated by him and the under-cover officers.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.ocala.com/article/20110427/ARTICLES/110429726/1001/NEWS01?Title=Man-charged-with-two-counts-of-online-solicitation&tc=ar

HPD Officer Charged With DWI

After crashing into a school bus earlier this month, Sgt. Suspected Drunk Driver Causes Fatal Accident

Man Charged After Deadly Crash

DWI Suspect Crashes Into Apartment

Football Player Pleads Guilty

Woman Injured By Drunk Driver

Former Police Chief Charged With Sexual Assault

61-year-old Donald Lewis has been indicted on three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, eight counts of indecency with a child and five counts of sexual assault of a child.  Lewis is the former Sulphur Springs Chief of Police.  Lewis was also an officer in Sulphur Springs for more than 25 years.  If convicted, he will be facing up to life in prison.  To read more on this story please go to  http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/04/08/texas-police-chief-charged-sex-assault/

Lubbock Man Goes On Crime Spree

Burns Phenix Jr. has been charged with aggravated kidnapping with the intent to inflict serious bodily injury and/or sexual abuse and aggravated sexual assault.  According to police, Phenix is a married man but has been dating the victim for about a year.  Police say that Phenix got into an argument with the woman and began hitting her.  The victim ran, but Phenix caught up to her and forced her into his car.  He then drove her to a rural area, kicked her in the ribs, and then sexually assaulted her.  Phenix is currently in jail with a bond set at $100,000.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.kcbd.com/story/14475192/man-jailed-for-abducting-beating-and-sexual-assaulting-girlfriend

Man Charged With 3rd DWI After Hitting Pedestrian

Hospital Worker Caught Selling Crack

Woman Dies After Alcohol Related Accident

Montgomery County Coach Charged

Off Duty Cop Charged

Intoxicated Driver Causes Head On Collision

Former Middle School Teacher Indicted

Policeman Arrested For DWI

Suspected Drunk Driver Kills Motorcyclist

Former Teachers Killed In DWI Crash

According to police, Joe Rogers was traveling west on West Erwin when his vehicle drifted into the East bound lanes.  He then collided head on with a vehicle being driven by Geneva Townsend, a former school teacher.  Ms. Townsend unfortunately died at the scene of the accident.  Townsend's passenger, Jane Bohanon another former school teacher, later died at a nearby hospital.  Police have dropped intoxication assault charges that were originally filed in this case and will now be seeking to charge Rogers with intoxication manslaughter.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.kltv.com/Global/story.asp?S=14419480

Too Few Texas Drivers Applied to Settle Their Surcharge Fees

The Dallas Morning News reports that only one in seven drivers in Texas applied to have traffic ticket surcharge fees wiped off their plates. Even those who were convicted of drunk driving could have applied and gotten excess fees cancelled - but the program, which began in January, ended in early April.

Mother Of Drunk Toddler Charged

Lashwanda Allen has been charged with endangering a child after her 1-year-old daughter was found drunk.  Police say that the toddler had a blood alcohol content of .09.  A neighbor called for an ambulance when she saw the young girl wandering around and appearing to be drunk.  When Allen's roomate returned home she reportedly found Allen's 4 month old hanging upside down off of the bed with a sheet wrapped around her waist.  Allen told police that when she woke up from a nap, she saw the toddler holding an empty alcoholic drink can.  If convicted Allen could be sent to prison for up to 2 years.  To read more on this story please go to http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/crime_tracker&id=8018735

Homeless Men Charged With Soliciting Minor

Two homeless men have been charged with sexually oriented crimes involving a minor.  20-year-old Brandon Hurley was arrested for online solicitation of a minor.  Hurley has been accused of sending a 14-year-old girl a text message in which he asked her for oral sex.  Police discovered the text messages while they were investigating another man, that Hurley happens to know.  Last week 27-year-old Mark Brock was arrested after he was caught fondling the same young girl at her home.  Brock has been charged with indecency with a child.  Both Brock and Hurley had been staying at the Salvation Army.  To read more on this story please go to http://www.newswest9.com/Global/story.asp?S=14390374

Fatal Accident Leads To DWI Charge

Former Middle School Teacher Sentenced

Abel Castro pleaded guilty to soliciting a minor online this past Thursday.  Castro was caught during a sting, targeting online predators,  by the Texas Attorney General's Office.  Castro arranged a meeting with what he believed was a 14-year-old boy.  When he showed up to meet the boy, he was arrested and charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child and online solicitation of a minor.

Former Teacher Sentenced For Soliciting Minor

Repeat DWI Offender Sent To Prison

Jose Lopez Jr. was convicted this past Friday of his fifth DWI.  The most recent DWI arrest took place after Lopez ran a stop sign and was stopped by police.  The deputy that pulled him over said he smelled alcohol on Lopez, saw beer in his vehicle, and found cocaine in the car.  During the punishment phase Lopez denied having a drinking problem.  He was ultimately sentenced to 32 years in prison.  

Former Teacher Accused Of Online Solicitation

Benjamin Childress has been charged with soliciting a minor over the internet.  Manvel police were called around midnight in regard to two people parked in a field.  When officers arrived on the scene they found Childress with a 15-year-old boy.  According to police, Childress met the boy on Craigslist.  If convicted, Childress will be facing up to 20 years in prison.

DWI Charges Dropped

Omar Chahid was charged with DWI after flipping his car on a North Carolina road.  During the course of the accident one man was killed and three others were injured.  Drunk driving charges were dropped against Chahid in a strategic move by the prosecution.  The DWI charge was dropped so that the prosecution can have the opportunity to bring more serious charges in the future.
